Chris is a third-generation mushroom farmer in Kennett Square, PA . He and his father, Peter , grow over 20,000,000 lbs. of white and portabella mushrooms. Chris is also one of 5 family cooperative owners of Laurel Valley farms, a compost facility in Avondale, PA , which produces around 4,000 tons of Phase II compost per week. Mushrooms from the family farm are sold retail and wholesale to Giorgio Mushroom Company, delivered nationwide. Chris built a 115,000 sq ft state-of-the-art growing facility in 2008 using Dutch technology, making the farm more energy and labor efficient while also improving the quality of the mushrooms.  In 2019 Chris used his technical knowledge to build a large facility in Anhui China . Chris has taught the China team how to make Compost, prepare casing, and grow mushrooms. The Anhui farm now sells 14,000,000 lbs of mushrooms, annually. Chris is now also associated with Contain Inc.
